LAUSD: Schedule a Special Election Now

All constituents within the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) deserve to have representation on the LAUSD School Board. We, therefore, ask that the LAUSD School Board schedule a special election to fill the vacant seat in Board District 5 as quickly as possible. A temporary Board Member with voting privileges should be seated until the election is held.

Why is this important?

Ref Rodriguez has plead guilty to charges related to his election to the LAUSD School Board. As stated by the LA Times Editorial Board, "Rodriguez’s misdeeds...made a mockery of the laws governing elections." The residents of Board District 5 should not be further victimized by leaving the seat empty, depriving them of a voice in how the District is managed.
